Cake & Craft Day
It was while I was updating my South Yorkshire wedding photography page that I saw the advert for a “cake and craft” session. It was open to anyone, but with very limited places, so I immediately booked two.
The craft suggested was card making. Neither Mum nor I are particularly talented card makers, but at the very least we’d get cake so we both went with open minds.
On The day
As soon as we went into the building we were met with a very smiley Heather offering cups of tea. The room we were crafting in was completely full of card making equipment. There were boxes full of card, paper, stickers, quilling tools, embossing sets….anything and everything you could possibly want was there. We had so much fun rummaging through the boxes and creating individual cards. The cakes that were provided had all been lovingly made by Heather, and they were delicious. I had one of the most beautiful pieces of chocolate brownie I think I’ve ever had in my life.
By the end of the session we’d all gotten to know each other a little bit better. Some of the ladies who attended had used the services, some were friends of the staff and others, like us, had just fancied an afternoon out. Regardless of the background we all enjoyed the activity and appreciated the hour doing something creative.
