Jess & Phil chose to have their pre-wedding session at Locke Park, in Barnsley.
Mid-2020 they chose to reschedule the big wedding they had planned, and opt for a more intimate wedding ceremony in Barnsley Town Hall. This would ensure that they were able to be married this year, without losing their big wedding day entirely.
Although Locke Park isn’t a wedding venue in itself, it does make a beautiful backdrop for any wedding photography in South Yorkshire. The contrasts in the landscapes of Locke Park mean that there’s a perfect photography spot at any time of year.
For Jess & Phil’s pre-wedding session, we focused on the area surrounding the bandstand and rose garden. Even though the leaves had fallen from the trees, their orange colour created a brilliant carpet on the ground. It was so lovely to spend time with these two before their wedding day, I can’t wait to photograph the wedding itself. Let’s just hope that the weather stays as dry!
