Wortley Hall Wedding
Kathryn and Richard were another couple whose plans were foiled by covid in 2020. They decided to change their date to July 2021 to be certain they’d miss the restrictions. While a few precautions were still in place, they did have a perfect day with all their guests present.
I’ve known Kathryn for a few years, and was honoured when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. On the morning of the wedding I met her at Wortley Hall Hotel getting ready with her bridal party. Makeup was well under way, Kathryn was having her hair pinned and dresses were being steamed after being in storage for a year.
The morning flew by, and soon we were heading down the grand staircase to the ceremony room. Richard was waiting at the top of the aisle, grinning from ear to ear. The ceremony was beautiful; the room at Wortley Hall makes a stunning backdrop for every ceremony, especially with the light pouring in from the windows all down one side.
After the ceremony we went out into the grounds to capture the group shots and couples photographs. Since booking their day here Kathryn & Richard have spent a lot of time walking and exploring the area, so they knew exactly which areas they wanted for their wedding photographs.
All the guests spent a lot of time enjoying the sunshine. Even as the evening came, the sun stayed out in its full glory. Eventually though it was time to go to the Ballroom for the first dance and cutting of the cake – following which everyone rushed to the dancefloor and stayed there all evening!
