Laura and Ben chose to have their pre-wedding session at their wedding venue, Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre in Huddersfield. Standedge is a stunning wedding venue with lots of outdoor space.
I met Laura and Ben with their two children by the canal. It was a gorgeous summer’s day, and with an event in the grounds of the visitor centre there were lots of families enjoying the sun. We walked to a shaded area across the bridge from the visitor centre as our first location. The little ones loved sitting in the grass by the trees, and there was a gorgeous view of the iconic red gates of this venue.
From the shaded trees we captured some images on the white bridge, and at the top of the stone ramp. No matter where we went we were surrounded by the Huddersfield countryside with the rolling hills in the background.
We sat down in the grass to talk about the details of Laura and Ben’s wedding day. Standedge is a blank canvas when it comes to weddings, so I was excited to hear about their plans for the décor. They’d hired a master of ceremonies to entertain guests through the wedding breakfast, a stunning flower wall for photo booth style shots, lawn games for the children and planned a BBQ style wedding breakfast. It all sounded summery, relaxed and beautiful.
I’m very excited to capture their day in a few weeks’ time!
