Sarah & Shaun’s day
Sarah and Shaun had a beautiful autumn wedding at Cubley Hall hotel.
On the morning of the wedding I travelled from Barnsley to Cubley Hall in Sheffield. I was surprised that the weather was so beautiful; it had been raining heavily the week before which is to be expected for October.
I found Sarah and he bridesmaids getting ready in one of the rooms. They all had matching flowered robes which were perfect for getting ready. They all unfastened at the front meaning they could be taken off without spoiling their hair and makeup.
As the makeup was being done Sarah told me about her cake. One of her friends was creating it, and was decorating it that morning. I slid out of the room to have a sneak peek. Watching it being created was fascinating; usually they’re complete when I arrive.
Just before the ceremony the wedding coordinator came to tell us that the weather was so lovely the ceremony could be held outside. Everyone was really excited as it had been assumed it would be far too rainy!
The Outdoor Ceremony
After the ceremony all the guests stayed outside to enjoy the sunshine. The page boys had capes given to them from the wedding party and played ‘superheroes’ for hours.
We were all called into the wedding breakfast room which was decorated with twinkly fairy lights and wooden plaques. The table plan was really interesting; a pallet with buckets of flowers hanging from it with names written onto them. Everything fitted in together perfectly.
The evening drew in and the sunshine left just in time for the evening reception to begin. Sarah and Shaun had booked a live band to play, and they kept everyone on the dancefloor the whole evening.
My favourite part of the day was the outdoor ceremony. The landscape that provided the background while Sarah and Shaun said their vows was stunning.
