Mel & Chris’ Story
Mel & Chris had a beautiful September wedding at Whitley Hall hotel.
I met Mel and her Bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. The hair and makeup was just beginning and the house was buzzing with excitement. The ladies had gypsophila braided into their hair, matching their bouquets.
As the morning went on, one of Mel’s bridesmaids took her outside to decorate the wedding car. All the ladies were traveling together in her car, and she’d bought some ribbons to make it a little bit more special.
At Whitley Hall, Chris was waiting in the grounds with all the guests. Mel checked in at the other side of the hotel and met her other two bridesmaids before the ceremony. Chris gathered everyone into the ceremony room with just enough time for one of the guests to balance their phone to film the event.
After the ceremony we walked around the beautiful grounds for the couples photographs. Although there are lots of fantastic photography spots, we spent most time on the broad walk over the lake. It quickly became a favourite for this wedding as family started to gather for the group shots.
It had been a beautiful day, but as the sun started to set the guests all went indoors for the evening reception. The cake table was the main focus if the evening room, surrounded by white flower cupcakes in glass cases; almost like the beauty and the beast rose.
One of the bridesmaids pulled me to one side and told me about the jackets they’d all had made for the hen party. She’d managed to bring them with her, and so just before I left she got the other girls together for a final photograph on the stairs.
My favourite part of the day was Mel’s bouquet. I loved the colours, and the pin badge was a simple but personal touch.
