10 Wedding Planning Tips for 2022

When planning a wedding there’s a lot to think about. From the invite list to the details on your wedding cake, there are a million decisions to make. Today we’re giving you 10 wedding planning tips for 2022 to help you create your perfect day.

Budget

Set a budget and stick to it. Getting into debt or relying on guests giving money as a wedding gift will make the planning process stressful. No matter what your budget is, your day will be perfect. See our wedding budget tips here.

Be Honest

If you’d love to have an intimate ceremony with a bbq in your garden afterwards, then go for it. If you dream of walking down the aisle in a luminous pink suit, you should. If a wedding in a castle is what you’ve always imagined, look into castle options. By being honest with yourself and your fiancé you’re more likely to have the wedding that you both want.

The Ceremony

Your wedding ceremony is the most important part of your day. Dedicate some time to talk to your officiant. Make sure you have it captured by a photographer or videographer (or both). It’s easy to get caught up with the other details, but without this part, you’re simply organising a big party.

Consider What’s Important

Make a list of what’s most important to you as a couple. It may be that your wedding stationery is at the top of the list, so you’ll want it to be perfect. Having a vintage car may be something you’d love, or you may be happy driving in your parent’s car. Surrounding yourselves with family and friends might be what you care about most, meaning you’ll need a large venue. Having an order of priority will help you to allocate your time and budget to the right places.

Trust Suppliers

Booking wedding suppliers you trust will save a lot of stress in the run up to your day, and the day itself. By booking people who you know will carry out the work exactly as they’ve said they would you’ll be able to relax with the knowledge your day will be exactly how you imagined.

Accept Advice

Wedding planning is a very personal process. One of our biggest wedding planning tips for 2022 is to accept advice from others. If your bridal consultant suggests trying a different style dress, try it. If your parents say that your wedding breakfast should be a little earlier, consider changing the timings.

We’re not saying you should follow every piece of advice given to you, but be open to listening to other opinions and it may just improve your day.

Capture Memories

Having a photographer on your wedding day is important, but what about the planning process? There will be venue meetings, dress fittings, suit tailoring and cake testing, all of which can be captured too. Keeping a diary or photo folder of your planning process is a lovely way to remember this time together.

Make A Timeline

If you haven’t already got one, make a timeline of what tasks need to be complete and when. Then stick to it as best you can.

Don’t Rush

When you’ve decided you’d like to book a certain supplier we suggest doing so. But don’t rush into booking anything you’re uncertain of. Remember, trusting the suppliers you book is important.

Enjoy Yourself

The planning process should be fun! If it’s all getting a bit much, take a break and come back to it with fresh eyes. If you’re anxious or stressed when wedding planning, not only will it not be enjoyable but you may find you don’t make the best decisions either.
