Had a lovely day yesterday at Barnardo’s Priory centre New Year party!
As the children arrived I photographed them, and quickly printed the images for them to put on their calendars they were making for their parents. We planted bulbs and made lanterns and New Year cards along with a box to put all the crafts in. Glitter seemed to explode everywhere!
There was also a snowman, who started life as a paper shape. During the day the children and helpers stuck cotton wool, stars and features onto him so he could go onto the display at the end of the day. HE was also involved in a ‘pin the nose on the snowman’! He does look rather marvellous!
After lunch there were sports games, with a relay game and a parachute! We put ‘snowballs’ onto it and tried to keep them in the middle before trying to put them through the centre hole. Everyone ran under it, and finally took it in turns to sit in the middle and get spun around, the service manager concluded the activity as she was flung around squealing with delight!
We finished the day with a chocolate fountain, resulting in a lot of very happy but very messy faces!
