Waterton Park Wedding
Megan and Dan had their day at Waterton Park Hotel, Wakefield. They chose to have a weekday wedding with an afternoon ceremony time. Their day was relaxed, informal and although there were a few changes due to restrictions it was a beautiful wedding.
On the day of the wedding I met Megan and her family at one of the cottages in the Waterton Park grounds. They had stayed the evening before and were getting ready when I arrived. The flowers were all laid out on the table and the whole room smelled amazing.
Inside the ceremony room the chairs had been laid out with names on each. Masks had to be worn during the ceremony, but Megan’s bridesmaids had planned ahead and gotten some to match their dresses. There were also personalised masks with the couple’s names and wedding date printed on them for family members.
After the ceremony we crossed the bridge for the drinks reception. The canapes were placed on a table with names for each platter, and the staff walked around the guests offering a waitress service so nobody need go to the bar. It was a lovely few hours in the sunshine, with everyone chatting and laughing.
Before going indoors for the evening reception, Megan & Dan cut their wedding cake on the lawn. Their nephews were keen to help them try the cake, but had to make sure Uncle Dan had the first bite!
The evening reception was a seated affair, with a last minute table plan put together by the couple. Table service for drinks and food didn’t spoil the atmosphere, and the DJ was playing some cracking songs as I left. It was a perfect day.
