Eileen and Alan had their wedding at Barnsley town hall with their reception held at Holiday Inn Barnsley.
I first met Eileen at the Holiday Inn Barnsley wedding fayre back in February. We spoke all about her wedding day and had an instant connection. A few days later we had a pre-wedding meeting where I met Alan and we got everything booked in.
On the wedding day we met at Barnsley Town Hall where the ceremony was taking place. The guests all arrived on a big green bus hired from Yesteryear Coaches. There was just enough time to capture some images outside before heading into the ceremony room.
Barnsley Town Hall is a beautiful Grade A listed building clad in Portland stone. The first floor has recently been refurbished to create a perfect setting for wedding ceremonies. Each room has a deep blue carpet and beautiful wooden backdrop, but the most impressive thing about the Town Hall is the staircase. With its white steps and ornate bannister the staircase is the first thing you see as the door to the town hall is opened, and it’s a fantastic spot for photographs.
After the ceremony all the guests got back onto the bus to travel to the Holiday Inn Barnsley. The rooms had been decorated by Wickham & Taylor and they fitted in perfectly with Eileen & Alan’s wedding vision.
The secret garden at the holiday Inn Barnsley is one of my favourite places to photograph. We spent a while walking around, using the stone benches and fountains as a backdrop for the wedding photographs before it was time for me to leave.
My favorite part of the day was definitely the bus. It was a simple way to get all the guests where they needed to be and the interior had been decorated really well.
