Ibis Styles Wedding
Jon and Emma had a stunning Christmas wedding at Barnsley Town Hall, with their reception at Ibis Styles Hotel Barnsley.
From start to finish their day was relaxed, personal and family orientated. On the morning of the wedding I met Emma at home, getting ready with her bridesmaids. Everything was calm right up to leaving for the wedding ceremony.
I met Jon inside Barnsley Town Hall with the arriving guests. The Christmas tree provided ample photo opportunities for the whole wedding party, until it was time to go into the ceremony room. As Emma walked down the aisle with her Dad all eyes were on her and her beautiful dusky pink dress. During the wedding ceremony one of the readings was “The day the saucers came” by Neil Gaiman. It talks about Zombies, flying saucers and the end of the world, and it has to be one of the most unique wedding readings that I’ve heard.
After the ceremony the guests went on to the Ibis Styles hotel for the wedding reception where they were greeted with mulled wine and bucks fizz. While they were enjoying their drinks, I was with Jon & Emma capturing their couple photographs. We wandered up to Churchfields Peace Gardens Barnsley with Emma wrapped up in her fluffy red jacket. The gardens are a little hidden away, but provided the perfect backdrop for their photographs.
Back at the reception Jon’s Dad gave a short service to bless the marriage. Jon and his band then took to the stage to provide live music for most of the afternoon. Wedding guests took to the dance floor, and stayed well into the evening.
