Laura & Ben | Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre, Marsden

Laura and Ben had a stunning summer wedding at ,a href="https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/things-to-do/museums-and-attractions/standedge-tunnel-and-visitor-centre-yorkshire" Target="_blank">Standedge Tunnel and visitor centre this August. Their day was focused being inclusive to family of all ages, and keeping a relaxed vibe.

I met Laura on the morning of the wedding at two hired flats in Marsden. It was just a few minutes’ drive from Standedge Tunnel and was the perfect place for all the preparations. The huge kitchen meant everyone could share the space, and having the two flats opposite each other meant the girls could come and go to get into their dresses. There was also an outside spot for the little ones to play on while the adults were using the expensive hair and makeup products.

Part way through the morning I popped over to the Groom preparations. Ben was getting ready with his groomsmen at his parents’ house a couple of minutes away, and it was a much calmer household than the girls!

Everyone began to make their way to Standedge for the wedding ceremony. I’d visited Standedge a couple of times before, but today it took my breath away. Laura and Ben had done an amazing job decorating the wedding reception room with tonnes of pink and white flowers and rose gold table numbers.

The wedding ceremony took place on the top floor of the venue, with lift access to each floor. The light in this room is stunning, the white walls reflect off every surface making it a beautifully bright space from the top of the aisle to the bottom.

For their wedding breakfast, Laura and ben chose to have a BBQ. Their catering company supplied lots of BBQ food, including burgers, sausages and corn on the cob. After the wedding breakfast the guests made their way into the garden to enjoy the sunshine. There were lawn games provided by the couple, and the play area for the kids to play on.

As the evening drew in the guests made their way up to the evening reception space where the disco was in full swing. When I left, guests were dancing around to some classic songs with the kids.
