Donna & Paul’s Day
Donna and Paul had a beautiful wedding at the New York Stadium, Rotherham.
When they first told me about their wedding venue I assumed that at least one of them would be a Rotherham fan, but that wasn’t the case. The truth was that they had seen the venue and found it was exactly what they were looking for in terms of location and size, and it was perfect for the children at the wedding day.
The day began with a busy morning at Donna’s house. She had her four bridesmaids, Son and his partner (who doubled up as the hair and makeup artist) and her grandson all getting ready with her. Although it was hectic everyone managed to get ready as the wedding car arrived.
The Ceremony
At the New York Stadium the atmosphere was full of excitement. Paul was busy speaking to the guests – all waiting for the brides’ arrival. The bridesmaids began to walk down the aisle, followed by Donna and her Son.
After a teary ceremony we had a few minutes to head to pitch side to capture the group photographs. As it was the end of the season and the last match had been played we even managed to grab a few shots with the Bride in the goal!
As the day continued it became clear just how perfect the venue was for this wedding. The sofas at the far end of the room created a play area for the children. They were able to play as they liked without worrying about table etiquette!
When the wedding breakfast had finished the wedding coordinator opened up the doors to the evening room immediately. This gave everyone the chance to spread out, and the children a new play area. All the staff were accommodating to the kids and made the day flow that little bit easier.
My favourite part of the day was Donnas' dress. It fitted her beautifully and had a gorgeous sparkle embellishment on the front and back. It was stunning.
