Sarah and Mark chose to have their pre-wedding session at their wedding ceremony venue, Barnsley Town Hall a few months before their wedding day. We met at the cenotaph and looked around the area together.
It was a rather breezy day, with a look of rain so we decided to capture the pre-wedding images before going through the details of the wedding day. We began with some of my favourite locations around Barnsley Town Hall; during the summer the flower beds are full of colour which I love to include in the images. We practiced the ‘silly slow walk’ and found the perfect position to cover the bins.
When we’d been through the images we wanted to capture on the day, we hopped over to the Old George coffee shop to go through the wedding details. These two had some great ideas for their day.
They planned to start by getting all the guests onto a bus, taking them to Barnsley Town Hall for the wedding ceremony. Each guest would be given a ticket to get on board, which was a lovely touch. After the ceremony guests would hop back on the bus to check into the hotel, before being taken to Cawthorne Village Hall for the wedding reception. We spoke about the logistics of this – and decided I’d also get a bus ticket to join the guests!
Coming out of the ceremony Sarah and Mark planned a conga line, with all the guests joining in behind them. They also had a live band and sparklers organised for their evening reception. It sounded like an amazing day, and I’m very excited to be part of it with them.
