Rachel & Roy’s Day
Rachel and Roy had a beautiful summer wedding at Shaw Lane Sports Club in Barnsley.
On the morning of the wedding I arrived at Rachel’s house to find her kitchen packed with Bridesmaids, a hairdresser and makeup artist. The bridesmaids all had matching pyjamas, robes and black slippers with a pompom on them which was a lovely touch.
During the morning I photographed Rachel’s wedding flowers, including her bridal bouquet that had been hand made by her Aunty. The flowers were ceramic and had been lovingly crafted and painted by hand. They were so well made they looked just like real flowers.
The morning seemed to fly by, and soon the cars (provided by The Yorkshire Wedding Car Company) had arrived to take all the ladies to the wedding ceremony at St. Peter, Felkirk Church, Shafton.
In church I found Roy standing nervously at the altar, talking to his family and waiting for the arrival of his Bride.
As soon as the ceremony was over there were a group of children all dying to throw their confetti. They helped to organise a confetti tunnel and did a fantastic job of covering the newlyweds with petals. Then it was into the wedding cars and on to Shaw lane.
This was the perfect venue for these two. Between the wedding breakfast and evening reception they had organised the magician, Brendini, to perform for the children.
The weather meant it was possible to go out onto the pitches and play football and they also booked a bouncy castle for later on in the day. There were tonnes of space for people to spread out and for the children (and groomsmen) to play until dusk.
My favourite part of the day was the confetti throwing! The children were all really excited to be involved and helped to create some amazing photographs.
