Wortley Hall Hotel Sheffield Wedding
Shirley & Bill had a gorgeous autumn wedding at Wortley Hall Hotel in Sheffield. I’d met Shirley a few years ago when she brought her grandsons to my Barnsley photography studio. One of the products I’d created for her was a keyring, complete with my contact details on the back. When Bill proposed, she contacted me to capture their day.
On the day of the wedding I met Shirley and her bridal party getting ready in one of the bridal suites at Wortley Hall. She was busy getting ready with her bridesmaids and flower girl, their dresses all hanging on the wall behind them. The morning seemed to fly by and it was soon time to walk down the grand staircase to the wedding ceremony.
Downstairs Bill was sitting with all the guests, and laughing with his best man as everyone waited for the arrival of the bridal party. His smile didn’t fade for a second during the day, and incredibly grew as Shirley walked down the aisle to him.
After the wedding ceremony we went to explore the grounds of Wortley Hall and capture some of their couple’s photographs. It was so lovely to see such a happy couple, especially after having to postpone their wedding. When we got back inside it was time for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
The theme for this wedding was ‘autumn’ and Shirley had created most of the decorations herself. The red, green and orange colour combinations followed through from the ceremony room, to the wedding breakfast room right into the evening reception. Every centrepiece was beautiful, and really pulled the colours of her bouquet and Bill’s tie in together.
Soon it was time for the evening reception, where we ended the night with a series of classic dance songs including the Macarena!
