Cubley Hall Wedding
Tom & Mary were married early May 2021, at the beautiful Cubley Hall Hotel in Penistone. Some covid restrictions were in place on their day, including social distancing and a limit on the amount of guests permitted.
I met Mary in one of the rooms at Cubley Hall on the morning of the wedding. She was getting ready with her bridesmaid and make-up artist, Polly. The weather was drizzly, and the high winds meant that the venue was closed to the general public meaning that Tom & Mary had the whole place to themselves.
As the ceremony time approached, I went to The Barn to meet Tom and the rest of the guests. The ceremony room at Cubley Hall looked beautiful. The chairs had been decorated with hessian bows, with the wedding favours – a bottle of hand sanitizer – placed on each of them. The fairy lights added to the romantic feel of the day.
On one of the seats was a laptop, set up to include Mary’s sister in the day. She was self-isolating, and so watched the ceremony and gave her wedding reading through video link. It was so lovely to have her be part of the wedding, even though she couldn’t be there in person.
After the newlyweds had danced their way back up the aisle, we took advantage of a break in the weather to capture some group photographs in the grounds. No matter which direction you look, Cubley Hall has the most beautiful views over the fields and woods behind.
The wedding breakfast took place in the marquee (which was 50% open in line with the current guidelines) and the guests all had a wonderful afternoon celebrating together.
