2024 has been another stunning year for weddings, and I’ve had the pleasure of working at wedding venues all over Yorkshire. Here’s a round up of the wedding venues I’ve photographed in 2024.
Barnsley Town Hall
Barnsley Town Hall is one of the most beautiful registry offices I’ve worked at, and it’s my most local. It’s in the centre of Barnsley and has excellent parking and public transport links. The interior has a breath taking marble staircase, oak panelled rooms and space for weddings of any size. Outside, the clean stone front, iron gates and fountains are perfect places for group photographs.

Bawtry Hall
Bawtry Hall is a beautiful Grade 2 listed wedding venue in Doncaster. It’s fully licenced, offers exclusive use and has the option for fireworks too. There’s no accommodation on site, but their sister hotel The Crown is just a minute’s walk down the road. The grounds are beautifully kept and there are perfect photo backdrops in every room.

Burntwood Court Hotel
Burntwood Court Hotel is a modern wedding venue in Barnsley, and one of my most photographed. The new conservatory at the Qube has elevated the evening reception and twilight packages, making it particularly popular in summertime. Both full day and twilight weddings have use of the chapel for the wedding ceremony. There are lots of places for group photographs and couples portraits in the extensive grounds, and the view over the fields is always breath taking.

Maison Du Biere at Elsecar Heritage Centre
Maison Du Biere is an independent beer shop and tap room in Elsecar Heritage Centre. The outdoor benches make a perfect setting for a relaxed wedding reception, especially during the summer months. Elsecar Heritage Centre has plenty of photo opportunities, from the iconic blue mural wall to the industrial buildings and the canal walk, there’s a real mix of backdrops to explore for wedding photography in Elsecar.

Mosborough Hall
Mosborough Hall is a traditional Sheffield wedding venue. Part of the Best Western Hotel group, it is fully licensed for wedding ceremonies and only holds one wedding per day. Weddings take place in the Chatsworth Suite, a building separate from the main hotel, giving the wedding party full privacy from the rest of the hotel guests. The compact grounds have been carefully designed to give you lots of backdrop options for your wedding photographs.

The surrounding sports fields are available to use for group photographs, and there’s a beautiful walk through a tunnel of plants and trees which is a perfect spot for couple portraits.
