Cornhill Castle Wedding
Alex and Alastair had a stunning September wedding at Cornhill Castle in Scotland.
I met Alex at a wedding fayre in Doncaster and we immediately got along. She told me about her fiancé having family in Scotland, and that the wedding would be taking place there. When they decided to book I was so excited.
The wedding took place at Cornhill Castle where I met Alex and her entourage the evening before. We put some finishing touches to the reception room and made sure everything was firmly in place for the morning. The next morning I headed to one of the suites to meet the ladies getting ready. Everything was calm, relaxed and ran on time.
Before the ceremony I went downstairs to find Alastair. He was waiting with his groomsmen and welcoming in his wedding guests. The last seats were taken and a nervous energy surrounded the ceremony room.
After the wedding ceremony we had the opportunity to explore the grounds of Cornhill Castle. The exterior of the building and the fountain made a stunning backdrop for the group photographs, but some of my favourite spots are just a short walk down the road, surrounded by the trees.
When we arrived back inside we had a few minutes before the wedding breakfast took place – complete with wedding favours of a Scottish tablet, a bottle of alcohol and an Irn-Bru. For the evening entertainment the couple had hired Ace Party who brought their casino tables. The party went on all evening, with guests alternating between the casino tables and dancefloor. It was an incredible atmosphere.
