Charlotte & Jason had their pre-wedding session on 31st January 2022. They chose Friarwood Valley Gardens near their home in Pontefract for their session as it’s where Jason asked Charlotte to be his wife.
As part of the pre-wedding session Charlotte & Jason wanted their two children to be involved. We met close to the play area in Friarwood Valley Gardens where their little ones were itching to play on the swings. We began the session by capturing the images with the children. They had such a lovely time showing me around their park, before we let them go and play in the playground with Grandad.
We’d already discussed the reason for choosing this location prior to the day, but it was so lovely to hear about Jason’s proposal. He’d taken Charlotte for a walk through the park while their parents were looking after the children and dogs. The plan was to propose, then have the family appear from the trees when she said yes!
He told me that as they walked down the steps he could see some of their family members – not quite as well hidden as he’d hoped – watching them both. Luckily Charlotte didn’t notice anyone, or suspect a thing, and they were engaged underneath one of the huge trees in the gardens.
It was such a lovely story, and it just made sense for their pre-wedding session to happen here.
After we’d captured all the images we needed, we sat down on one of the benches to chat about their wedding day plans. They’ll be married at Burntwood Court Hotel in the new chapel building with their wedding reception in the Brierley suite in the main hotel. I’m very excited to see all their plans come to life.
