Gemma & Michael | Holiday Inn Barnsley - Charlotte Elizabeth Photography

Gemma and Michael's wedding took place at the Holiday Inn Barnsley in March. Their children played a huge part in the wedding, being the page boy and bridesmaids.

On the morning of the wedding I met Gemma at Holiday Inn Barnsley with all the girls getting ready in one of the largest rooms the hotel had to offer. The sun was shining, and the room was a hive of activity, with hair, makeup and a picnic for the children! When everyone else was ready, Gemma and her mum moved into a much quieter room to put on the wedding dress.

Meanwhile, downstairs the guests were arriving to be greeted by Michael. The plan was for the three children to walk down the aisle ahead of Gemma, but when they saw their Dad the two youngest ran straight into him to give him a big hug.

After the ceremony we all made our way to the Secret Garden at The Holiday Inn where we captured some fun group photographs. While the guests went to enjoy the drinks reception, Gemma, Michael and I ventured further into the garden for their couples photographs.

It wasn’t long before the wedding breakfast. The room was decorated in a beautiful dusky pink, with a matching ribbon around their simple white wedding cake. For the children there was a pack of sweets on the table, while the adults all had a shot each! After the speeches the bride and groom stood up and invited everyone to take their shot together.

The evening seemed to come around too quickly, and it was soon time for the cake cutting and first dance. The couple also opted to do a father-daughter dance, where Gemma danced with her father and Michael danced with his too girls. The dancefloor stayed busy all evening, with some amazing spinning from the children!
