Laura & Andrew were married in October. They chose the stunning Cutlers’ Hall Sheffield for their wedding day.

On the morning of the wedding I met Laura at the Leopold Hotel, where she and her bridal party were getting ready for the wedding. Laura’s dress was hanging from the top floor of the room right into the centre where the hair and makeup was taking place.

After a quick sandwich run, it was time to make our way to Cutlers’ Hall. I arrived to find Andrew and his best man surrounded by guests all waiting in anticipation. When Laura arrived, her bridesmaids helped carry her dress up the grand staircase before straightening it out outside the ceremony doors.

When Andrew saw Laura walking down the aisle his face lit up. They smiled at each other as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, and barely took their eyes off each other for the rest of the day.

During our pre-wedding session we’d decided to use Cutlers’ Hall as the backdrop for the wedding photographs, rather than venture further into Sheffield. After the ceremony we gathered on the grand staircase for the group photographs before wandering around the various rooms for the couple portraits.

The speeches came after the wedding breakfast, the highlight of which was the best man’s speech. Usually, a best man’s speech is formed of three things; complimenting the bride & bridal party, embarrassing the groom, and finishing by saying how lovely a couple the bride and groom make. This one was different. We were all told at the start that it would be solely embarrassing to the groom, with nothing held back. That’s exactly what we got – with numerous guests crying with laughter by the end!

As the day turned into evening, the band began to play and the guests all piled onto the dance floor. It was such a fantastic atmosphere with guests of all ages enjoying the music well into the evening.
