Shaw Lane Sports Club Wedding
Megan & Lewis had an intimate spring wedding celebration at Shaw Lane Sports Club, Barnsley.
On the day of the wedding I met Megan in the bar area of Shaw Lane Sports Club. She was waiting, hidden, with her bridesmaid and two flower girls for the guests to be seated before the ceremony. They’d opted for a mid-afternoon wedding ceremony, and so my part day wedding photography package fit their needs perfectly.
In the ceremony room, Lewis was standing at the top of the aisle chatting to guests as they arrived. There was a lot of excitement and nerves, but everything seemed to calm when the doors opened for the wedding party to walk down the aisle.
After the ceremony we went out to the front of the building to capture some group shots. Usually we’d make use of one of the fields as a background, but the weather was turning and the rain started to fall a little, so we thought it best to stay close to shelter just in case! We managed to capture the group shots before the heavens opened.
Everyone went back indoors, and I spoke to Megan and Lewis about our options for their couple photographs. We decided that at the next dry spell we’d risk the weather and head back outside to the tree lined path and capture some outdoor images. It worked perfectly, and the rain had brought out the green in the leaves a little more too.
Back inside the evening celebration got well under way. The dancefloor was packed, and the room was full of the sound of guests laughing and enjoying the afternoon with each other.
It was such a lovely day, I didn’t want to leave!
