Jessica & Neil’s wedding
Jessica & Neil had a relaxed wedding at Sheffield Town Hall before moving on to their evening reception at The White Heart in Penistone.
I was waiting outside Sheffield town hall on the day of the wedding when Neil and his family arrived. It was surprisingly sunny for a September in Yorkshire, so we all waited outside pinning buttonholes to jackets until it was time for the ceremony.
Jessica arrived with her two gorgeous bridesmaids; they were dressed head to toe in white and had the most comfy-looking satin shoes. When she walked down the aisle both Jessica and Neil looked incredibly nervous. This look melted away instantly when they saw each other and was swapped for huge smiles.
After the ceremony everyone gathered in the Peace Gardens for the group photographs. The fountains combined with the town hall gave us a gorgeous backdrop, and surprisingly nobody got wet!
We spent a while enjoying the weather before heading back to the White bear, Penistone. The reception room had been recently renovated and looked beautiful. The wedding party had full use of the outside patio area which was lit with old bulbs. When it began to get dark the children could run in and out as they liked. The tables were all set with bubbles, which provided great entertainment for everyone!
To keep an informal atmosphere Jessica and Neil had decided against a sit down meal. Instead they had hot roast sandwiches with all the trimmings served in a carvery style. There were no table numbers or seating plans, everyone just went to get the food that they wanted and found a chair.
As the evening went on the dancefloor became busier and there were some fantastic moves from the bridesmaids. Everyone was having fun and enjoying the evening.
My favourite part of the day was Jessica’s shoes. They were from Irregular choice, had a gorgeous lining and they looked really comfy!
