Sam & Cassie’s Day
Sam and Cassie had a beautiful church wedding followed by their reception at Thoresby Courtyard.
I began the day with Cassie and her bridal party all getting ready for the wedding. Everyone had matching purple robes in keeping with the colour scheme. The morning seemed to fly by and with just a few minutes until the cars would arrive everyone was helping Cassie with her finishing touches to her dress, hair and makeup.
Over at Bolsover Church Sam was waiting with his groomsmen for the arrival of the Bridal party. When Cassie walked in his face lit up. Her dress looked elegant as she walked down the aisle, with her flowers adding just a splash of colour. The ceremony was beautiful, with some of the loudest sung hymns I’ve heard in a long time. At the end of the service Sam & Cassie danced back down the aisle.
Thoresby Courtyard Wedding
When we arrived at Thoresby Courtyard giant games had already been laid out for guests to play with. There were space hoppers, giant jenga and a limbo game that everyone took part in with varying degrees of success.
We had a lot of fun with the family photographs before I whisked the Bride and Groom off to the grounds. Thoresby Hall itself is a stunning building with tonnes of photograph opportunities. At the pre-wedding shoot there was blossom on the trees and beautiful green ivy. Heading into autumn the colours had changed to give a dramatic red element in all the images.
The drizzly weather encouraged us back up to the courtyard. The room had been styled by Individual by Design and it was perfect. As the afternoon went on it was clear how many little details had gone into creating the day, including rubber ducks and a four tier cheese cake. Live band The Kickstarts had been booked as the evening entertainment and they were fantastic. Everyone was on the dancefloor showing off their moves for the whole evening.
My favourite part of the day was the cake topper. Two lobsters in bride and groom outfits had been created by Iced co. They gave a focal point to the simple cake, and were exceptionally cute!
