In the current age of digital cameras and mobile phones it seems as though every moment of our lives is being documented. This couldn’t be truer than on your wedding day. Almost every guest will have a way to take photographs, and will capture all sorts of images. But how do you make sure you see all the images from your day? Wedding photo sharing sites are becoming more and more popular. We’ve done a bit of research into the top contenders – take a look at what we found below.
Wedding Photo Swap
Wedding Photo Swap gives you a free 30 day account with 50mb of storage and unlimited guest invites. In the app you can create galleries and invite your friends and family to contribute to each one. If guests choose to download the app, every image they take on your wedding day is uploaded directly to the gallery – meaning you don’t miss a single image.
There are options to extend your account to either 6 or 12 months. This costs £19.99 and £24.99 respectively, and offers additional features such as unlimited high-res downloads.
The Guest
The Guest app uploads your guests’ images in real time to the gallery of your choice. All you have to do is enter your wedding information and your guests’ details. Everyone will receive a notification to download the app so their images can be uploaded and seen immediately. At the end of the day, the app turns off the automatic uploads – you can do this manually in the settings at any point during the day. It’s also completely free.
Facebook Albums
Facebook has a feature where you can add contributors to each album. Just invite your friends and family to add all their images into the same album. To add and view images everyone will need a Facebook profile, but it is completely free.
Dropbox
Dropbox is built for sharing files and images. Guests can be invited to contribute to an album, and have the opportunity to download images too. It’s free to sign up, and the app allows everyone to upload images during the day.
Provide CDs/ USBs
Providing CD’s or USBs on the day can be expensive, but it means that anyone with a camera can get their images to you. Pop them on a table with a note and addressed envelopes so that they can be posted back to you, full of memories.
Hashtag
Setting up a hashtag for your day is one of the simplest ways to see all your images. Just ask all your guests to use it on all their wedding posts. Check the popularity of the hashtag before you choose it though – having #weddingday will make it super difficult to narrow down your images!
